Super duplex steel UN32750 Hex Bolts Nuts Studs
Super duplex 32750 is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant alloy composed of a balanced combination of chromium, molybdenum, nitrogen, and nickel, with increased levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen compared to standard duplex stainless steels.
This alloy offers excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-rich environments, making it suitable for demanding applications in offshore oil and gas, chemical processing, and marine industries.
- **Chemical Composition**:
- Chromium (Cr): 24.0-26.0%
- Nickel (Ni): 6.0-8.0%
- Molybdenum (Mo): 3.0-5.0%
- Nitrogen (N): 0.24-0.32%
- Iron (Fe): Balance
- Other elements such as manganese, silicon, and copper in smaller amounts.
- **Mechanical Properties**:
- Tensile Strength: ≥800 MPa
- Yield Strength (0.2% Offset): ≥550 MPa
- Elongation (% in 2 inches): ≥15%

The balanced duel phase microstructure combines high strength with cost effective corrosion resistance particularly in high chloride environments. Super Duplex has the same benefits as its counterpart – it has lower alloying costs when compared with similar ferritic and austenitic grades with equipment corrosion resistance in chloride containing environments due to the material’s increased tensile and yield strength. In many cases this gives the purchaser the welcomed option of purchasing smaller thicknesses without the need to compromise on quality and performance.

Containing 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 3.6% molybdenum as well as copper, tungsten, and nitrogen, UNS S32760 is a highly alloyed super duplex stainless steel with high PREN for use in aggressive environments.
This is a super duplex grade with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure. The alloy consists of around 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition. The super duplex microstructure has the high strength of the ferritic grades whilst retaining the corrosion resistance of the austenitic grades. It is not uncommon to see the metal used as a practical solution to chloride-induced stress cracking, which is the Achille’s’ heel of stainless steel.
It also has outstanding resistance against sulphide-stress corrosion cracking in sour-gas environments.
Well known for its high impact strength, UNS S32760 displays no ductile-brittle transition but only a slight reduction in impact energy as temperature decreases. Even when welded, UNS S32760 displays only slightly lower impact strength.
It was initially developed as a seawater resistant material for pump applications in the North Sea. Following its success, it became the desired material for a wide range of uses including oil and gas applications, seawater, subsea pipework systems, heat exchangers and more.
